Organizations Filed Purposes: The Inverness Yacht Club, on Tomales Bay, was founded in 1912 for the purpose of preserving Tomales Bay, fostering boating and yachting and to serve as a base for adult and youth activities in the community, both on and off the water.

This year saw the Gables, our historic building housing the Jack Mason Museum of West Marin History and the Marin County Inverness Library, receive a new roof. This is a significant job for a building thats called The Gables as it took a very large crew to accomplish the job while the library was not open!The IF also continued to serve as the Fiscal Agent for modest contributions toward the Youth Sailing Scholarship program, for youths who would otherwise have no access to the bay and sailing. We supported a similar program that has been going on in the community for decades, called Water Dogs, for their swim scholarships for the areas youth, many living on ranches, who need to learn how to swim living in an area surrounded by water.We supported an outdoor Shakespeare program that included many local actors in the cast and had large audiences for each of its presentations.In the spring, we hosted a fire symposium for the local community, with updates received on programs for defending our homes against wildfire, creating defensible space, etc. We started a program of renovating the stairs and small pedestrian bridges in the community that connect various winding and often steep roads, including installing steel gridded plates on the treads to provide greater traction during inclement weather. More work and expenses in this realm will continue in the 19/20 fiscal year.
