Organizations Filed Purposes: The specific and primary purpose for which this corporation is formed is to operate a Cultural Center that provides venues, support facilities, funding, promotion, leadership, organization, innovation, education, and other resources for programs and productions whose focus is on the aesthetic arts including the dramatic, musical, visual, and other forms of artistic expression. The general purposes of this corporation includes contracting for the desired and necessary facilities and services to achieve its primary purpose and those detailed in the by-laws, such as the maintaining of a playhouse, the securing of Directors, and the securing of scripts, securing of halls, the selling of tickets and programs, and the producing of plays, drama productions, musical affairs, lectures, concerts, educational programs, music-related wellness programs and youth programs, and for the furtherance of said or related activities.

Operates a cultural center including producing plays, spoken word, reader's theater, concerts; creating/offering children's art, acting, and music classes; running a community orchestra and a strings conservatory for adults; teaching video/lighting tech and offering hands-on experience in related vocational fields; offering a place for art-related groups to have shows. (See Part III for more detailed information.)

Music enrichment programs for adults--Joshua Tree Philharmonic (community orchestra) and Strings Conservatory. Joshua Tree Philharmonic: Led by Maestro and arranger Jarrod Radnich (as a volunteer), the orchestra has held two sessions held each fiscal year. One session runs from September through mid December and the other runs from mid February through mid May. Both sessions conclude with a ticketed public concert series. Orchestra members are accepted with a wide variety of skills and instruments, which is made possible by Radnich's specially-orchestrated arrangements designed with as many parts as needed to include all members. Concert proceeds are used to purchase instruments (such as tympani drums), music stands and chairs, uniforms, concert chairs, provide music scholarships and more, in addition to payment of program expenses (royalties, licenses, cleaning, music, overhead, etc.). Concert proceeds are included in the music concert sales on this tax return.

Musical concerts and theatrical performances. During this fiscal year the Cultural Center produced 11 productions in this category (with multi-date productions). Music concerts included classical orchestral and chamber music, jazz and blues, and modern instrumental music. Theater included spoken word, staged readings, larger-scale Community Theater, a comedy club event, and professional-quality dramatic theater ranging from a single actor to a small troupe. All productions are open to the public and provide a venue for the public to see, hear, learn about, and participate in these art forms. Equipment and electronics purchased to enhance performances is included in equipment and capital purchase and not the expenses of this category.

Hi-Desert Arts Academy. The Hi-Desert Cultural Center began a program to provide a robust program of performing and visual arts classes to school-aged students in the Morongo Basin and closely surrounding areas. The program was in partnership with Hope Academy Charter School and classes began in January 2015. Students were provided an arts education without regard to socioeconomic background and no child was denied a placement dues to financial issues. Hope Academy students attended at no cost to them and other students attended at rates far below the market rate. Over 70 students attended the classes held from January 2015-May 2015. (For 2015-2016 cases have greatly expanded to include over 250 student enrollments.) Figures do not include equipment purchases made in lieu of payment for Hope Academy students.
