Organizations Filed Purposes:
The United Farm Workers of America's primary exempt purpose is to improve the working conditions and working environment of its members and farmworkers, including but not limited to improving wages, medical benefits and other terms and conditions of employment.
The UFW renegotiated 16 contracts covering 6021 workers and improved the wages, benefits and working conditions for those covered workers. The UFW was successful at winning an election at 1 employer to increase the membership by 550 workers and engaged in other major work actions to improve conditions for farm workers. The UFW conducted numerous trainings for its worker leadership throughout the country. The regional offices conducted worker trainings and staff trainings to improve effectiveness of our representational abilities and to expand the capacity of the union.
