Organizations Filed Purposes: PROMOTE INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP LEADING TO SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH, PRODUCTIVITY, AND PROSPERITY AND TO FACILITATE PUBLIC-PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATION, RESEARCH, TRAINING, AND CAPACITY BUILDING ACROSS THE AMERICAS.

TO CATALYZE AND HELP "BUILD 21ST CENTURY ECONOMIES" IN THE AMERICAS.

ENERGY & SUSTAINABILITY CONTINUES TO FOSTER A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE'S MOST CRITICAL ENERGY AND SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES. THIS PROGRAM SHAPES AND INFORMS PUBLIC POLICY RELATED TO ENERGY DEVELOPMENT, INVESTMENT, NATURAL RESOURCE USE, CLIMATE CHANGE, AND ENERGY TRANSPORTATION IN THE AMERICAS. THE INSTITUTE'S ENERGY PROGRAM IS ONE OF THE OLDEST AND MOST INTERNATIONALLY RESPECTED IN THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE, LEVERAGING GLOBAL INSIGHTS AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING TO INFORM REGIONAL STAKEHOLDERS ACROSS SECTORS. THE INSTITUTE HELD IT'S 28TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN LA JOLLA IN MAY 2019. REGIONAL ROUNDTABLES WERE ALSO HELD IN MEXICO, ARGENTINA, COLOMBIA AND MADRID, SPAIN ALONG WITH LOCAL SPEAKER EVENTS, PLUS A SERIES OF PODCASTS AND WEBINARS.

STEAM INITIATIVE: UNDER THE BROADER UMBRELLA OF THE INNOVATION PROGRAM, ANNUAL TWO-WEEK LONG SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART AND MATHEMATICS (STEAM) STUDENT SUMMER CAMPS ARE DESIGNED TO UNDERSCORE THE IMPORTANCE OF STEAM EDUCATION FOR HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS (14-18YRS) FROM THROUGHOUT THE LAC REGION AND THE NORTH AMERICA. DESERVING AND MOTIVATED STUDENTS SELECTED ON MERIT AND DESIRE TO UNDERTAKE UNIVERSITY/COLLEGE STUDIES AND LATER TO PURSUE STEAM RELATED CAREERS - INCLUDING ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE RELATED. ACCOMPANYING 5-DAY STEAM TEACHER'S TRAINING WORKSHOPS ARE IDEA GENERATING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ENHANCE AND PROMOTE INNOVATIVE STEAM TEACHING TECHNIQUES. REGIONAL PROGRAMMING WAS HELD IN ARGENTINA AND A PILOT TEACHER'S TRAINING WORKSHOP WAS HELD IN ENSENADA.

INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP:PROGRAMMING IN 2019 CHANGED FOR INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP. THE LAUNCH OF THE LIFE SCIENCES PROGRAM WAS INITIATED, AND PROGRAMMING ENDEAVORS BEGINNING IN 2016 WERE NOT ACTIVE AS A RESULT OF POOR REVENUE RESULTS. A NUMBER OF ONSITE MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS WERE HELD IN ORDER TO BUILD THIS NEW PROGRAM FOR FUTURE FUNDRAISING PURPOSES.
