Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the House of Yahweh is to serve the economically disadvantaged, especially women and children, so they can attain greater fullness of life. To accomplish this, HOY provides food, clothing, shelter and other supportive services to those in need and to direct and guide them along the path to independence. Charitable programs include Food Outreach, Clothing Outreach, Homeless Outreach, Social Services Outreach and Health Care products.
The Food Outreach Program provides groceries for families including fresh vegetables, fruit, dairy products, bread, bakery items, meat, fish, eggs and other essential foods. Families receive boxes and bags of food once each week commensurate with the number of people in their household. Food is distributed six days each week -- Monday through Saturday. Revenue on line 12 includes $2.45 million of Gifts in Kind for food outreach. Over 10,000 food boxes and over 22,000 food bags are given to ~56,700 clients.
Clothing Outreach Program: Clothing and household items donated to HOY are resold in its Thrift Store in Lawndale California. Proceeds from these sales are used to support the organization's exempt purpose. HOY's Thrift Store is the engine that powers several outreach programs - clothing for the poor, welcome home kits for homeless families who are transitioning to permanent homes, and disaster recovery kits for those affected by wildfires and other extreme situations.
Online Store: Certain higher-valued clothing and household items donated to HOY are resold online through eBay to enhance the proceeds received. Proceeds from these sales are used to support the organization's exempt purpose, powering several outreach programs - clothing for the poor and welcome home kits for homeless families who are transitioning to permanent homes.
