ICYOLA Orchestra Programs. ICYOLA began in 2009 as a training orchestra of nine African-American high school instrumentalists who sought opportunities to refine their skills, develop ensemble performance technique, and learn repertoire. It now serves approximately 250 musicians from beginners to seasoned professionals of which about 80 are African American, 12 are Latino and 8 are of other ethnicities. We present an annual season of mostly-free concerts that are staged at various venues in Los Angeles County. Our current season features six concerts - a Season Opening Concert usually presented at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, a Christ Season Concert usually presented at Rolling Hills United Methodist Church, an Easter Season Concert usually presented at Rolling Hills United Methodist Church, and a Season Finale usually presented at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles.
