The mission of Help Me Help You is to uplift homeless and low income families and individuals by ensuring access to food, public benefits, economic security, and affordable housing.
Help Me Help You is the lead public benefits enrollment center in the So Bay and for the Coordinated Entry System and the Long Beach Continuum of Care. Help Me Help You has been a part of the Continuum of Care for more than 5 years and we have had our primary location at the City of Long Beach's Multi-Service Center for more than 10 years. Our work reduces hunger and poverty, improves nutrition and health, and boost family economic security. Programs target homeless and disadvantage families and individuals, including seniors, disabled individuals, single mothers, veterans and youth. This year caseworkers conducted 2,100 intakes to assess client needs, conducted 487 enrollments into SSI, 264 enrollments into CalFresh, and 110 enrollments into MediCal benefits. Through two food pantries and four distribution sites, we distributed nutritious food to 30,000 individuals.
