24th Street Theatre's mission is to engage, educate and provoke its diverse community with excellent theatre and arts education.
The theatre served 8,000 students with field trips for both elementary and secondary students. Our after school program served 25 high school teens with our Leadership Academy. We served over 75 students with 30-weeks of after school programming with our After Cool classes. The theatre served over 5,000 community residents in November 2019 with a Dia de Los Muertos celebration sponsored by LA City Council members. We also served 20 community members who participated in our Teatro Del Pueblo program, and the hundreds of community members who attended the performances in December 2019.The theater also served about 4,000 people who attended our public performances of the childrens play, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane in the spring of 2019. We also served many teachers with live and online workshops from our partnership with the LA County Office of Education.
