Organizations Filed Purposes: A New Way of Life advances multi-dimensional solutions to the effects of incarceration.

Re-Entry Housing: Through eight safe homes, A New Way of Life served 78 women, mothers of 64 minor children. The organization also helped 53 women access educational opportunities, and helped 45 out of 68 women seeking employment get jobs. Twelve (12) women discharged parole/probation and 33 women were able to access permanent housing. Services were provided for less than 1/3 the cost of incarceration. On average, 9 out of 10 women served met benchmarks identified as needed for successful community reentry after incarceration. Ninety-nine percent (99%) of the women served were NOT re-incarcerated.

Replication: We founded Sisterhood Alliance for Freedom and Equality which is a traing program that will help organizations around the world replicate our model and thus give a fresh start to more formerly incarcerated women.Our first cohort of 12 replicators met for 2 days of training, panel discussions and tours. Our replicators came from Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois and Washington DC.

Re-Entry Legal Clinic: Through 23 legal clinics and individual representation, A New Way of Life helped 352 clients clean up their records. Ten (10) people secured occupational licenses or government clearance for employment. Attorneys were assisted in this work by trained volunteers who provided 215 volunteer days of service throughout the year.
