We help Eradicate childhood deaths due to malnutrition while helping millions of American adults and children become more active and healthy.
Active For Good is a 30-day program where we partner with businesses that currently have or are interested in developing employer-sponsored wellness programs. Employers pay Active For Good to engage their employees in a team-building program that includes the double impact of being active and unlocking meals for malnourished children at the same time. Participants can connect their phones or existing fitness monitoring devices with the Active For Good app. There are typically teams that can compete and earn Good Points based on the minutes of activity and steps taken. The app converts the Good Points to life-saving meals being unlocked for malnourished children during the challenge.During 2019 we had 15 companies run Active For Good challenges with a total of 5,865 participants unlocking 106,181 life-saving meals for malnourished children called RUTF.At the end of 2019, Active For Good's team is comprised of 2 full-time employees and independent consultants, in addition to hosted software providers. This team collaboratively works to develop the platform, sign up participating organizations, and support the program. The outreach, maintenance and ongoing development of this program will take approximately 100% of Active For Good's time.During 2018 we had 15 companies run Active For Good challenges with a total of 5,865 participants unlocking 106,181 life-saving meals for malnourished children called RUTF.At the end of 2018, Active For Good's team is comprised of 2 full-time employees and independent consultants, in addition to hosted software providers. In November of 2019 we began experimenting with free public challenges. The mission of helping people get active and unlocking live-saving nutrition is the same, but the funding model would be different. If we succeed in getting a larger audience they will share the experience with their employers to do private challenges and we can attract a sponsor to fund the RUTF nutrition unlocked. This also allowed us to utilize a month Google Grant of up to 10k in advertising to share the word about the free monthly challenge.
With the financial support of a Canadian non-profit organization, Food for Famine, we expanded to high school programs in British Columbia. These are entire student run events that use our Active For Good technology platform. We had four high schools participating with over 3,000 students who collectively unlocked enough RUTF to save the live of 1,200 malnourished children.
