Brave Trails' mission is to provide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning youth and their allies, ages 12-20, innovative, impactful summer camp programs that foster meaningful relationships and develop 21st century skills to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Brave Trails successfully ran 6 weeks of summer camp, a one week and 2 week residential program combining typical camp elements and leadership elements. We recruited 275 campers from across the United States and 80 volunteer staff members. We awarded approximately $40,000 in camper scholarships to youth that wouldn't otherwise be able to go to camp. We also continued our year-round programing, in the form of a once a month meet up groups for lgbtq youth and allies ages 12-20. We had a camper reunion at which 45 campers from across the United States came.
