Organizations Filed Purposes:
OUR AIM IS TO RESOLVE CONFLICT THROUGH THEATRE AND PROMOTE PEACE THROUGH SHARED EXPERIENCES. BRIDGE THEATRE PROJECT WORKS WITH YOUTH IN PROVIDING INTENSIVE THEATRE PROGRAMS GEARED FOR THEM TO COLLECTIVELY WRITE THEIR OWN PLAYS. IN ADDITION TO SHARING THEIR WORDS, THE PARTICIPANTS REHEARSE AND PERFORM SELECTED PLAYS WRITTEN BY BRIDGE PARTICIPANTS. THROUGH THE PROCESS OF WRITING, SHARING EXPERIENCES AND INTERACTIVE THEATRE ACTIVITIES, STUDENTS DEVELOP AN AWARENESS OF THEIR OWN STRUGGLES AS WELL AS THOSE OF THEIR COMMUNITY. STUDENTS ARE GUIDED TO SET ATTAINABLE GOALS, ARE CHALLENGED TO GENERATE CREATIVE WAYS TO MANAGE LONG-TERM PROBLEMS AND TO REMEMBER THE IMPROTANCE OF COMPROMISE. PROGRAMMING ALSO INCLUDES CREATION OF PLAYS WRITTEN IN SMALL GROUPS, GIVING STUDENTS THE CHANCE TO PERFORM IN OTHER GROUPS' PLAYS, EXPERIENCING VIEWPOINTS THAT MAY DIFFER FROM THEIR OWN.
OUR AIM IS TO EDUCATE, INSPIRE, AND CONNECT YOUNG PEOPLE AROUND THE GLOBE THROUGH INTENSIVE THEATRE EDUCATION PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE SELF-EXPRESSION, FOSTER SELF-CONFIDENCE, PROMOTE CULTURAL TOLERANCE, EXPAND WORLD VIEWS AND PERSPECTIVES, AND EXPLORE SOLUTIONS TO COMMUNITY PROBLEMS THROUGH THE CREATION AND EXCHANGE OF ORIGINAL PLAYS AND THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS.
