CICLAVIA CATALYZES VIBRANT PUBLIC SPACES, ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION AND GOOD HEALTH THROUGH CAR-FREE STREETS.
CICLAVIA IS A NONPROFIT WITH AN UPLIFTING MISSION TO CATALYZE VIBRANT PUBLIC SPACES, ACTIVE PEOPLE-POWERED TRANSPORTATION AND GOOD HEALTH THROUGH INCREDIBLY POPULAR CAR-FREE STREET EVENTS. CICLAVIA KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES, TOUCHING THE LIVES OF PEOPLE FROM ALL NEIGHBORHOODS, WALKS OF LIFE, ECONOMICS, ETHNICITIES, CULTURES, MOBILITY AND AGES. WE HELP SHAPE POLICIES THAT AFFECT COMMUNITY, CLIMATE RESILIENCY, MOBILITY & SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION, AND PERSONAL AND COLLECTIVE WELLNESS. OVER THE LAST TEN YEARS, CICLAVIA HAS BUILT A GLOBAL REPUTATION WHILE EARNING THE TRUST OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.CICLAVIA PRODUCED FOUR CAR-FREE STREET EVENTS DURING THIS PERIOD AS PART OF OUR EFFORTS TO CHAMPION A MORE EQUITABLE, HEALTHY AND CONNECTED LA. THESE FREE EVENTS WERE ATTENDED BY APPROXIMATELY 150,000 PEOPLE WHOSE DEMOGRAPHICS REFLECT THAT OF LA COUNTY WITH 38% HISPANIC, 38% WHITE, 14% ASIAN, AND 7% AFRICAN AMERICAN. ALL CICLAVIA EVENTS HIGHLIGHT THE LOCAL CULTURAL, SMALL BUSINESS, ART AND ARCHITECTURE OF THE NEIGHBORHOODS WE VISIT. FUNDING COMES FROM METRO, INDIVIDUAL CITIES, EVENT SPONSORS AND SUPPORT FROM PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. AS THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC CHANGED THE WAY WE LOOK AT LIVING IN URBAN SETTINGS, CICLAVIA IMMEDIATELY GOT TO WORK WITH OUR PARTNERS TO ENSURE MEASURES TAKEN TO ADDRESS THE CRISIS LIVED UP TO THE SAME VALUES OF INCLUSION AND EQUITY THAT WE BELIEVE DEFINE THE FUTURE OF LA. ALTHOUGH IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING SINCE APRIL 2020 WAS POSTPONED, OUR VIRTUAL COMMUNITY CONTINUES TO THRIVE WITH OVER 110,000 SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS ACROSS PLATFORMS. WE IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED THAT FEW ORGANIZATIONS REPRESENT THE DIVERSITY, SCALE AND SCOPE OF LA LIKE WE DO AND THE IMPORTANCE OF LEVERAGING THAT BASE FOR RECOVERY EFFORTS. ATTENDEES, SPONSORS, AND THE CITY OF LA TRUST CICLAVIA'S MISSION, SAFETY AND UNIQUENESS. AS THE PANDEMIC WANES, CICLAVIA IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER - READY TO OFFER HOPE, INSTILL SOCIAL CONFIDENCE AND COMFORT TO THE COMMUNITY.
