SUPPORTED IN PASSING STATE LEGISLATION SB946 TO DECRIMINALIZE STREET VENDING AND LA CITY LAW TO LEGALIZE STREET VENDING.4. ENGAGED 100 COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND LA COUNTY METRO'S TRANSIT ORIENTED COMMUNITIES PROGRAM.5. RECRUITED NEW MEMBERS FOR INTEGRATION INTO OUR HOUSING JUSTICE WORK.
COMMUNITY WEALTH:1. THROUGH VITA, FILED MORE THAN 586 FREE TAX RETURNS FOR LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS, RETURNING $580,652 OF REFUNDS BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND HOUSEHOLD SAVINGS ON TAX RETURNS OF $87,900.2. SERVED FINANCIAL EDUCATION WORKSHOPS FOR 500 PARTICIPANTS AND FINANCIAL COACHING FOR 132 CLIENTS. 3. LENDING CIRCLES SAVINGS PROGRAM WITH 56 PARTICIPANTS THAT SAVED $50,500.4. THROUGH OUR HOMEBUYER EDUCATION AND COUNSELING, PREPARED 175 FUTURE HOMEOWNERS IN FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER EDUCATION AND ONE-ON-ONE PRE-PURCHASE COUNSELING. 10 CLIENTS PURCHASED A HOME. WE SERVED 36 CLIENTS IN FORECLOSURE PREVENTION COUNSELING.
