Organizations Filed Purposes: THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO HOUSE PEOPLE BY DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES, FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES; CREATING COMMUNITY ONE LIFE, ONE PERSON, ONE RELATIONSHIP AT A TIME.

PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING - THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH BOTH FOR PROFIT AND NON-PROFIT DEVELOPERS AND PROPERTY OWNERS TO CREATE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING OPTIONS IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY FOR LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. THESE INCLUDE SECURING UNITS IN SITE-BASED HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS, AS WELL AS SCATTERED SITE UNITS. DURING JULY 1, 2019 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020, 525 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED BY THE ORGANIZATION; THESE INDIVIDUALS WERE LIVING IN SCATTERED SITE OR PROJECT-BASED HOUSING SETTING AND 88 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED OUTREACH, HOUSING PLACEMENT, OR EVICTION PREVENTION SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION'S HOUSING RETENTION RATE IS AN UNPARALLELED 93% FOR PEOPLE HOUSED SINCE 2011.SERVICES WERE DELIVERED IN GEOGRAPHIC AREAS THROUGHOUT LOS ANGELES COUNTY, INCLUDING HOLLYWOOD, PASADENA, DOWNTOWN, THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, THE SAN GABRIEL VALLEY, EAST AND SOUTH LOS ANGELES.FUNDING SOURCES: DURING THE LAST TWO FISCAL YEARS, FUNDING SOURCES FOR THE ORGANIZATION'S SERVICE PROGRAMS INCLUDE UNITED WAY OF GREATER LOS ANGELES, CORPORATION FOR SUPPORTIVE HOUSING, COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES (DHS), CITY OF WEST HOLLYWOOD, CITY OF PASADENA, WORKS, HOLLYWOOD COMMUNITY HOUSING CORPORATION, WHITE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, EMANATE HEALTH, AND THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL. IN ADDITION TO THESE SERVICE CONTRACTS, HOUSING WORKS HAS A CONTRACT WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES (LAHSA) THAT PROVIDES TENANT-BASED SECTION 8 VOUCHERS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO RECEIVES CONTRIBUTIONS FROM VARIOUS FOUNDATIONS, CORPORATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS.

HOME FIRST PROGRAM - ASSISTS HOMELESS PERSONS DIAGNOSED WITH SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS (OR MULTI-DIAGNOSED WITH MENTAL ILLNESS, ADDICTION, AND/OR HIV OR OTHER CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS) TO FIND, SECURE, AND SUSTAIN PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING. SERVICES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT PARTICIPANTS' ABILITY TO RETAIN HOUSING AND THRIVE IN THEIR COMMUNITY ARE PROVIDED BY HW'S MOBILE INTEGRATED SERVICES TEAM (MIST), AND INCLUDE: CASE MANAGEMENT, 24/7 CRISIS RESPONSE, COUNSELING, PSYCHIATRIC CARE, MEDICATION MANAGEMENT, MONEY MANAGEMENT (INCLUDING SERVICES AS REPRESENTATIVE PAYEE), HEALTH CARE, RECOVERY SERVICES AND TREATMENT, BENEFITS ADVOCACY, EMPLOYMENT READINESS AND SEARCH ASSISTANCE, COMMUNITY-BUILDING AND RECREATIONAL/SOCIAL ACTIVITIES.

EMPOWERMENT WORKS - ACCESSES PAID AND VOLUNTEER WORK OPPORTUNITIES, AS WELL AS COMMUNITY INTEGRATION ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THEATRE, SPORTING EVENTS, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, CONCERTS AND CELEBRATIONS, TO THE ORGANIZATION'S HOUSED PARTICIPANTS. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020, 80 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN EMPLOYMENT OR VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES AND 125 PARTICIPATED IN COMMUNITY INTEGRATION EVENTS.
