INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITY SERVES LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS ACROSS LOS ANGELES, PROTOTYPING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS THAT SEEK SYSTEMS CHANGE THROUGH POLICY, ADVOCACY, AND COMMUNITY WEALTH BUILDING PROGRAMS.TO ACHIEVE ITS MISSION, INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITY BUILDS CROSS-SECTORS COALITIONS THAT ADVOCATE FOR THE THOUGHTFUL URBAN POLICIES THAT AIM TO UPLIFT COMMUNITIES CURRENTLY FACING THE MOST OBSTACLES TO SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITY IS COMMITTED TO ADVANCING EQUITY AND POSITIVE CHANGE BY ENGAGING IN MEANINGFUL POLICY EFFORTS THAT ADVOCATE FOR EQUITABLE ECONOMIC INCLUSION OF LOW-INCOME IMMIGRANT MICRO-ENTREPRENEURS.INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITY ALSO LEVERAGES A MULTIDISCIPLINARY PERSPECTIVE TO ADDRESS ONE OF THE ROOT CAUSES OF POVERTY IN URBAN AREAS ACCESS TO CAPITAL. CAPITAL IS IMPORTANT TO GENERATE WEALTH, INVEST IN LOW-INCOME ENTREPRENEURS, AND BUILD SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY-BASED ECONOMIES. THROUGH A MICRO-FINANCE FUND AND A COOPERATIVE-BASED PROGRAM MODEL, INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITY IS CONNECTING LOW-INCOME ENTREPRENEURS WITH CAPITAL AND RESOURCES TO STABILIZE AND GROW THEIR BUSINESS TO HELP THEM SUSTAIN LONG-TERM PROSPERITY. OVERALL, INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITYS PROGRAMS ARE CREATED WITH SCALABILITY IN MIND; GENERATING MODELS THAT CAN BE REPLICATED AND APPLIED TO ALL TYPES OF URBAN ENVIRONMENTS.INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITYS CORE PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVE INCLUDE:- LOS ANGELES STREET VENDING CAMPAIGN, A COLLABORATIVE POLICY EFFORT WORKING TOGETHER TO ADVOCATE FOR EQUITABLE AND FAIR SIDEWALK VENDING PERMITS FOR APPROXIMATELY 50,000 STREET VENDORS FORMERLY DEEMED ILLEGAL IN LOS ANGELES. THE CAMPAIGN WAS SUCCESSFUL IN DECRIMINALIZING SIDEWALK VENDING IN LOS ANGELES. CALIFORNIA IS WORKING TOWARDS CREATING A PERMIT SYSTEM THAT PROTECTS VENDORS AND THEIR BUSINESS;- MICRO-FINANCE FUNDS WHICH INCLUDE THE SEMIA FUND, A LOW-INTEREST MICRO-LOAN FUND, AND THE (RE)STORE FUND, A MICRO-EQUITY FUND THAT OFFERS CAPITAL AND COACHING TO LOW-INCOME, PRIMARILY IMMIGRANTS, ENTREPRENEURS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES. THUS FAR INCLUSIVE ACTION FOR THE CITY HAS DEPLOYED OVER $470,000 IN CAPITAL TO LOW-INCOME ENTREPRENEURS AND HOME-BASED BUSINESS; AND- COMPRA FOODS (COMMUNITY MARKET PURCHASING REAL AFFORDABLE FOODS), A PURCHASING COOPERATIVE AND FOOD DISTRIBUTION SERVICE IN COLLABORATION WITH TWO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT DELIVERS FRESH AND AFFORDABLE PRODUCE TO LOW-INCOME SMALL MARKETS OWNERS LOCATED IN FOOD DESERT NEIGHBORHOODS. COMPRA FOODS GREW ITS OPERATIONS FROM 12 TO 62 STORES THROUGHOUT LOS ANGELES IN JUST ONE YEAR.
