Organizations Filed Purposes: The Compton Jr Posse leverages the rich equestrian heritage of our community to give inner-city youth an alternative to gang and other street life based influences by providing a self development focused program, where participants are taught the value of education, hard work, career planning, and making positive contributions to society.

JR. Posse Youth Equestrian Program (Year-round Programs) engage kids in the hard, daily work of ranch management, including feeding, cleaning stalls, grooming horses, and caring for the grounds. The riding also teaches the kids about body mechanics, balance, and etiquette. This program offers year-round after-school programs, high school club equestrine team, ranch field trips and group visits, and week long summer day camp. Our program is a hands-on interactive educational learning experience with lectures, demonstrations and arts & crafts activities which teach introductory horse care and includes riding time for all attendees. Grants were giving for staffing needs, summer programs, safety equipment for horse and rider.New program being offered to all youth this year consist of Urban Agriculture, and Arts/Crafts.

Recreational Programs for the youth such as 9 week summer/winter camps at CJP, Theater including Cavalia, special training at Del Mar International Horse Show, Sycamore Farms, and Rancho Rio Verde. Number of Participants: 270

Participated in several horse shows such as ETI horse Show, West Palms Events, Hunter and Jumper shows, IEL-Interscholastic Equestrian League, Trancas Riders and Ropers, OC Equestrian League, IESS horse show, Shrimp horse show, OCIEL horse show, Los Angeles Masters, CPI Horse Show, and LAEC horse show/events. Attended Multiple Grand Prix Show, LAEC, Equifest Show, ETI Convention LAEC, and Dressage Show LAEC. Number of riders: 25-35, Number of horses: 15, Number of attendees: 25-40. Expenses for transporation, lodging, entry fees and food.Paid for tickets/entry fees for 25-35 participants, transporation, lodging, and food.
