PROVIDE MEDIATION SERVICES
MEDIATION AND SETTLEMENT PROGRAMSCOMMUNITY SERVICE - THE COMMUNITY SERVICE COMPONENT HELPS PEOPLE SETTLE CONFLICTS, WHICH MAY RESULT IN COURT ACTION OR ESCALATE INTO DESPERATE ACTS OF FRUSTRATION AND VIOLENCE. COMMUNITY SERVICES ARE INITIATED AT THE REQUEST OF ANY PARTY OF THE DISPUTE.YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICE - THIS PROGRAM SERVES SCHOOLS AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT LOS ANGELES COUNTY. IT IS DESIGNED TO REDUCE AND PREVENT ACTS OF FRUSTRATION AND VIOLENCE AMONG YOUTH THROUGH FOUR ACTIVITIES: (1) STUDENT PEER MEDIATION; (2) CONFLICT RESOLUTION; (3) PARENT AND EDUCATOR SEMINARS; AND (4) FAMILY MEDIATION SERVICES.A PORTION OF THE REVENUE FOR THE MEDIATION PROGRAMS CONSISTS OF GRANTS FROM LOS ANGELES COUNTY AND THE CITIES OF SANTA MONICA AND WEST HOLLYWOOD. THE REMAINING REVENUE CONSISTS OF FEES FOR SERVICES, GRANTS FROM PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS, FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND IN-KIND DONATIONS OF TIME, SPACE, FACILITIES AND MATERIALS.
ATTORNEY-CLIENT MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION SERVICESTHIS PROGRAM HELPS TO RESOLVE FEE AND NON-FEE DISPUTES BETWEEN CLIENT AND THEIR ATTORNEYS WITHOUT RESORTING TO THE COURT SYSTEM OR FORMAL DISCIPLINARY STATE BAR PROCEDURES. PRIMARY SERVICES ARE FEE ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION. THE PROGRAM ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES IN ATTORNEY-ATTORNEY FEE DISPUTES.
TRAINING AND CONSULTANT SERVICESTHIS PROGRAM PROVIDES TRAINING AND CONSULTATION SERVICES IN MEDIATIONS, ARBITRATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION TECHNIQUES TO INDIVIDUALS, GOVERNMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES, CORPORATIONS, AND OTHER GROUPS. IT TEACHES OTHERS TO ENHANCE PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS THROUGH PUBLIC TRAINING WORKSHOPS, CONFERENCES AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.
