LOS ANGELES MUSEUM OF THE HOLOCAUST, THE FIRST SURVIVOR-FOUNDED HOLOCAUST MUSEUM IN THE UNITED STATES, IS A PRIMARY SOURCE INSTITUTION THAT COMMEMORATES THOSE WHO PERISHED, HONORS THOSE WHO SURVIVED, AND HOUSES THE PRECIOUS ARTIFACTS THAT MIRACULOUSLY WEATHERED THE HOLOCAUST. THESE POIGNANT EVENTS ENGAGE THE PUBLIC IN DISCUSSIONS ON THE SOCIAL RELEVANCE OF THE HOLOCAUST AND THE IMPORTANCE OF FIGHTING DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM. ART & MEMORY EDUCATION PROGRAMS: 3,444 PARTICIPANTS THESE CREATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS CONNECT STUDENTS WITH HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS TO DOCUMENT THEIR EXPERIENCES THROUGH ART, FILM, AND THEATER PROJECTS, TEACHING THE POWER OF PERSEVERANCE. WE EMPOWER STUDENTS TO STAND AGAINST ANTISEMITISM, BIGOTRY AND HATRED THROUGH INTERGENERATIONAL DIALOGUE, ARTIFACT-BASED LEARNING, MUSEUM GALLERY EXPLORATION, AND REFLECTIVE ART WORKSHOPS.
