The Los Angeles Teacher Center of Torah Umesorah (The Center) promotes highquality education by providing teachers with opportunities for professional development, including lectures by experts in education and computer training classes. The Organization provides educational services, such as workshops and seminars, and teaching materials to teachers in order to improve the Jewish Education in the Los Angeles Community. The Center provides lectures for teachers on a variety of topics appropriate for a broad range of grade levels. Lectures may include Coping with Stress and Anxiety in the Classroom, Fostering Phonemic Awareness, and a Hebrew literacy course.

In addition to hosting inspiring workshops and seminars, the entity provides resources to Jewish pre-schools, elementary, middle and high-schools, colleges,Talmud Torahs, Sunday schools, community centers, and community schools regardlessof their affiliation.The Center houses a library where teachers can access curriculum resources. Inaddition, the library will have a comprehensive collection of materials on Jewishreligious studies, history, and culture. The Center provides visiting teachers with access to its computer lab, which houses state-of-the-art computers with the latest word processing and graphic design software as well as the latest Jewish educational software. SMARTboards are available for teachers use as well. Workshops are provided to teachers on a broad range of classroom skills, such as fostering proper organizational and study skills as well as the creation of handouts and newsletters.Teachers who visit the Center have use of its Make-it-and-Take-It-Center, where teachers can create stimulating displays and other materials using a die-cut machine, laminator, poster printer, coilbinder, button maker, artwaxer and overhead projectors. The Center also hosts networking sessions for teachers, providing them a forum where they can come together to discuss current educational issues, best practices and teaching strategies and methodologies. The Center is open to all teachers, regardless of affiliation.
