In 2019 Open Progress grew its volunteer community to more than 12,000 individuals across the United States. It developed and launched a transformational new methodology for identifying the issue positions of voters using text messaging which was subsequently deployed to more than 5 million people. It worked with partners to activate and mobilize low-propensity voters in six states. It made its first investment in green-field software, becoming a 50% investor in TextOut.
