Organizations Filed Purposes: To Build grassroots power to eliminate structural barriers to social and economic opportunities in low-income and disenfranchised communities.

Over the past year, SCOPE continued to build support for equitable climate, health, and workforce programs with multiple benefits for low-income communities of color. A few of our major accomplishment include:In the STAND-LA Coalition, SCOPE continued working with community groups, environmental organizations, neighborhood councils, and labor unions to end neighborhood oil drilling. With the Our Water Coalition, SCOPE engaged South LA allies on water resilience, health equity, and public investment to better inform policy recommendations on local stormwater infrastructure investments. Our grassroots leaders polled South LA residents who identified protections for low-income renters, public investment in frontline communities, and employment opportunities as key community priorities for the proposed plan and collected over 300 postcards expressing their concerns.In our regional oral health efforts, we have concentrated on building a diverse, grassroots-led coalition with a shared understanding of the systemic changes needed in the industrys approach to serving low-income and marginalized communities. At the state level, SCOPE continues to work in the California Climate Equity Coalition (CCEC) to increase accountability, transparency, and equity in the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) program and has led CCECs Jobs Team in developing shared jobs principles and policy recommendations.
