WILD UP BELIEVES THAT MUSIC IS A CATALYST FOR SHARED EXPERIENCES, AND THAT THE CONCERT VENUE IS A PLACE FOR CHALLENGING, EXCITING, AND IGNITING THE COMMUNITIES WE LIVE IN.
GENERAL PROGRAM: Our General Programs included a tour with teaching residency to Virginia Tech and a tour to the National Gallery in Washington D.C. We did programs in Los Angeles with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, with Bill Morrison at the United Artists Theater, and with Camilla Meza at The Soraya. We started a Winter festival in Los Angeles and played a dozen shows during the darkest nights of the year.
SELF-PRESENTATION CONCERT: In December 2019 and January 2020 we presented the first iteration of our Winter Festival, called Darkness Sounding. We presented 11 concerts, with over 30 artists, including more than a dozen new works. All were presented with low cost or free tickets.
RECORDS/ALBUMS: We released a new album of vocal / instrumental music by composer Chris Cerrone that landed us a Grammy nomination. We recorded a new album, the first in an anthology of the music of Julius Eastman.
