PROPERTY MANAGEMENT - IN COOPERATION WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES AND SAN ANDREAS REGIONAL CENTER (SARC), THE ORGANIZATION HAS DEVELOPED A WELL-RESPECTED HOUSING ORGANIZATION WITH A FINANCIALLY SUSTAINABLE PORTFOLIO OF 45 SPECIAL NEEDS PROPERTIES, PROVIDING HOUSING FOR OVER 180 INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.IN 2007, THE ORGANIZATION FORMED A LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, CASA MILAGRO, LLC, TO OWN AND MANAGE 32 SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCES DEVELOPED UNDER THE BAY AREA HOUSING PLAN TO HOUSE 128 PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY.IN 2010, THE ORGANIZATION FORMED A SECOND LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY, MAS MILAGROS, LLC. MAS MILAGROS OWNS 4 SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES, WHICH WERE GRANTED, WITH THE COVENANT TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR RESIDENTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES.IN 2014, THE ORGANIZATION EXPANDED ITS MISSION TO INCLUDE PROVIDING HOUSING MAINTENANCE AND OPPORTUNITIES TO THE LOW-INCOME POPULATION, AS WELL AS THOSE WITH DEVELOPMENT DISABILITIES.IN 2015, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO WORK WITH SAN ANDREAS REGIONAL CENTER AND WAS AWARDED CONTRACTS FOR HOUSING SERVICES, INCLUDING ENVIRONMENTAL ACCESSIBILITY PROJECTS AND CONTRACTS TO ACQUIRE AND REHABILITATE 3 HOMES WITH FUNDING FROM THE COMMUNITY PLACEMENT PROGRAM ("CPP").IN 2016, THE ORGANIZATION WAS AWARDED CONTRACTS TO ACQUIRE AND REHABILITATE 3 ADDITIONAL HOMES IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY TO SERVE INDIVIDUALS COMING OUT OF SONOMA DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER. IN ADDITION, BAHC HAS EXPANDED TO OFFER SERVICES TO GOLDEN GATE REGIONAL CENTER, AND WAS AWARDED CONTRACTS TO DEVELOP 4 MORE HOMES IN 2016-17 WITH FUNDING FROM THE COMMUNITY PLACEMENT PROGRAM ("CPP").IN 2017, THE ORGANIZATION, ACQUIRED 7 HOMES FULFILLING THE CONTRACTS OUTLINED ABOVE. THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES PROVIDED BAHC WITH ACQUISITION AND RENOVATION FUNDS IN THE FORM OF GRANTS AND FORGIVABLE LOANS TIED TO RESTRICTED COVENANTS.IN 2018, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO FOCUS ON CPP PROPERTY ACQUISITION AND REHABILITATION, WHILE ACTIVELY PURSUING OPPORTUNITIES IN PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS TO DEVELOP INCLUSIVE HOUSING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THE ORGANIZATION ACQUIRED ONE MORE HOME FULFILLING ANOTHER CPP CONTRACT.IN 2018, THE ORGANIZATION WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN ADVOCACY EFFORTS TOWARDS THE CREATION OF A STATE WIDE HOUSING PLAN. BAHC IS ACTIVELY PURSUING OPPORTUNITIES IN PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS TO DEVELOP INCLUSIVE HOUSING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ("IDD").IN 2019 THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO BE FOCUSED ON CPP PROPERTY ACQUISITION AND REHABILITATION PROJECTS, WHILE ACTIVELY PURSUING OPPORTUNITIES IN PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS TO DEVELOP INCLUSIVE HOUSING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. ONE ADDITIONAL PROPERTY WAS ADDED BRING THE TOTAL HOMES IN SERVICE TO 47.AT THE ONSET OF COVID-19, BAHC WAS ABLE TO CONVERT 2 HOMES, IN THE EXISTING PORTFOLIO, FOR TEMPORARY USE AS "COVID SURGE HOMES", FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES / IDD.IN FISCAL 2019-20 THE ORGANIZATION WAS AWARDED CONTRACTS TO ACQUIRE AND RENOVATE 2 ADDITIONAL CPP HOMES IN THE NEXT YEAR.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT - BAHC IS ACTIVE IN SEEKING NEW PROPERTIES TO ADD TO ITS PORTFOLIO TO EXPAND ITS MISSION IN PROVIDING SPECIAL NEEDS HOUSING FOR THOSE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. BAHC IS ACTIVE IN SECURING CONTRACTS TO UTILIZE ITS EXPERTISE IN PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT.
