Organizations Filed Purposes:
Promote fire safety in Mariposa County through educating home owners about clearing around their homes, coordinating efforts with various agencies to clear brush, etc. Manage strategic fuel reduction projects such as construction of fuel breaks.
Residents in Mariposa County had their defensible space cleared (out to 100 ft. from structure). Received chipping and brushing for same. The FSC also put in Fuel Breaks for the Forest Service, CAL Fire and the BLM. We work with teachers in the classroom to educate students aboit the importance of Fire Safety. We put on an annual FIRE SAFE Rally with all the Fire Agencies helping to educate the community about living in the Sierra's.
