TO CONDUCT RESEARCH AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON SUBJECTS USEFUL TO THE INDIVIDUAL AND BENEFICIAL TO THE COMMUNITY REGARDING REFRIGERATION METHODS AND WAYS TO REDUCE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF REFRIGERATION.
THE NONPROFIT HAS 120 MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS CONTRIBUTING TO THE MISSION. MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE IN AT LEAST ONE OF THE 6 PROGRESS GROUPS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS SPECIFIC BARRIERS PREVENTING THE WIDESPREAD ADOPTION OF NATURAL REFRIGERANTS, INCLUDING: POLICY, RETURN ON INVESTMENT, CONTRACTORS & SERVICE TECHNICIANS, UTILITIES & ENERGY EFFICIENCY, CODES & STANDARDS, AND BEST PRACTICES. DURING 2019 NASRC ORGANIZED 9 EDUCATIONAL EVENTS INCLUDING IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS, WEBINARS, AND ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS TO EDUCATE THE INDUSTRY AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. ADDITIONALLY, WORKED WITH THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUE OF AMMONIA REFRIGERATION (IIAR) TO CREATE A COMMERCIAL AND FOOD RETAIL TRACK AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE. MAINTAINED ONLINE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC, INCLUDING TRAINING ON NATURAL REFRIGERANT SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT, CASE STUDIES AND INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES. PUBLISHED BI-MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, ARTICLES, AND ONLINE POSTINGS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT, INDUSTRY UPDATES, AND RELEVANT NEWS ON NATURAL REFRIGERANTS. LAUNCHED THE NATURALLY COOL MOVEMENT TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS AND SUPPORT FOR THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION. COLLABORATED WITH STANDARDS BODIES TO CONTRIBUTE TO BUILDING CODES, SAFETY AND ENGINEERING STANDARDS, AND GUIDELINES FOR THE USE OF NATURAL REFRIGERANTS IN SUPERMARKETS. DEVELOPED TRAINING MANUAL FOR TECHNICIANS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE REFRIGERATION ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS ASSOCIATION (RETA). CO-AUTHORED A CHAPTER ON CLIMATE CHANGE FOR THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HEATING, REFRIGERATION AND AIR-CONDITIONING ENGINEERS (ASHRAE). FACILITATED AN ENERGY MODELING FEASABILITY STUDY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FINANCIAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM. PROVIDED INPUT TO PUBLIC POLICY AT STATE LEVEL TO CONTRIBUTE INDUSTRY INSIGHT AND ADDRESS THE NEED FOR INDUSTRY TO ADOPT THE USE OF NATURAL REFRIGERANTS.
