WiST is the leading organization to bring together companies, their executives, young professionals, and students who share a passion for innovative technologies that impact success throughout the business of sport. Specifically, the WiST platform will offer members growth opportunities in the following areas:Industry knowledge: gain unique access to emerging trends, thought leaders and new technologies in the exploding sports landscapeNetworking: meet industry leaders and innovators to expand business partnerships and identify new opportunities in sports tech at existing sports tech conferences and eventsCareer development resources: find support to launch, navigate and/or advance their careers via mentors, scholarships for summer internships aka WiST Fellowships, online seminars and job postings.The WiST community is comprised of business experts in various stages of accomplishment and expertise. WiST Fellowships: WiST awarded $5,000 grants to fifteen (15) women (all college or graduate students) for summer internship projects, pivoting all fifteen to be virtual due to COVID. WiST Provided each with a mentor, regular zoom community-building and informational sessions, and networking to enhance their career choices after graduation.Sports Tech Leadership Series: This written interview series highlights either current leaders or rising stars throughout the sports tech industry. WiST published five (5) interviews in 2020.WiST Presents: How I Got into Sports Tech: This lively and educational webinar series featured topics covering all aspects of the sports tech industry, from pro sports, to analytics, higher education, venture capital and more. WiST produced thirteen (13) webinars in 2020. Attendance ranged from 80-120 participants each.WiST Next Gen: Discover Sports Tech! (6 webinars): WiST launched this initiative designed to inspire, empower and enlighten middle and high school young women on the vast array of career opportunities throughout sports tech. WiST Next Gen produced six (6) webinars in 2020.WiST NETWORK Career Hub: Soft launched the single source for diversity hiring in the sports tech industry, offering job postings and candidate database access to corporate partners and other businesses looking to diversify their workforces and identify women at more senior stages of their careers for leadership roles. Full rollout in 2021.Accelerator Partnerships: WiST joined forces with leAD Sports and Comcast Sports Tech to educate founding teams of dozens of startups on the programs and services offered by WiST. Additionally, WiST provided mentorship and webinars focused on diversity and inclusion initiatives and the importance of culture for winning teams.
