FOOD SERVICES: IN 2019, THE CENTER PROVIDED 24,758 FOOD SERVICES, A TOTAL OF 618,950 MEALS. FOOD SERVICES CONSISTED OF A MONTHLY FOOD SUPPLY OF FRESH MEAT, CANNED GOODS, BAKED GOODS AND PRODUCE; WEEKLY BREAD, VEGGIE, AND DAIRY FOODS; 7,525 BAGGED LUNCHES FOR UNHOUSED MEN, WOMEN, AND CHILDREN; 770 HOME DELIVERIES FOR SENIOR-AGED AND DISABLED PERSONS. LARGE EVENTS INCLUDED THANKSGIVING DINNER FOOD BOXES FOR 692 HOUSEHOLDS AND 198 HOT MEALS TO INDIVIDUALS HOUSED AND UNHOUSED; HOLIDAY EVENTS INCLUDED DISTRIBUTION OF HOLIDAY FOOD BOXES TO 848 HOUSEHOLDS, WHILE TOYS, CLOTHING, AND BOOKS WERE PREPARED AND GIFTED TO 1,161 CHILDREN 17 YEARS OLD AND YOUNGER.
CLIENT SERVICES: IN 2019, THE CENTER PROVIDED CRISIS CASE MANAGEMENT, HOUSING, HOMELESS, AND OTHER SOCIAL SERVICES TO HELP MEET THE BASIC NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES; THROUGH CLIENT SERVICES PROGRAMS, OBJECTIVES WERE LED BY CASE WORKER INTERVENTIONS GUIDED ON THE PILLARS OF ACCESS, EQUITY, AND SYSTEM NAVIGATION. THE CENTER'S BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT LEVELED THE PLAYING FIELD FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES AS 995 CHILDREN WERE PREPARED FOR A SUCCESSFUL RETURN TO SCHOOL THROUGH THE PROVISION OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES, BACKPACKS, CLOTHING, UNIFORMS, SHOE VOUCHERS, AND HAIRCUTS, AND MORE. THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS, THE CENTER STRENGTHENED ITS HOUSING FIRST FOCUS TOWARDS PERMANENT HOUSING THROUGH EVICTION PREVENTION, RAPID-REHOUSING, RENTAL ASSISTANCE, MOVE-IN ASSISTANCE, AND MOTEL VOUCHER SUPPORTS. THE CENTER ALSO HELPED THE RECIRCULATION OF WEALTH BACK INTO NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES OF LOW TO MODERATE INCOME WAGES EARNERS THROUGH THE FREE VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE AND TAX PREPARATION PROGRAM; 219 PREPARED FEDERAL AND STATE RETURNS GENERATED $270,463 BACK INTO COMMUNITIES; $92,691 OF WHICH WAS GAINED THROUGH THE EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT. LASTLY, THE CENTER WAS A WORK-EXPERIENCE TRAINING SITE FOR 24 YOUTH, ADULTS, AND SENIORS ENTERING OR REENTERING THE WORKFORCE, WHILE ALSO A JOB DEVELOPMENT SITE TO AIDE IN HELPING LOW-INCOME PARTICIPANTS TO INCREASE THEIR WEALTH THROUGH EMPLOYABILITY.
HEALTH SERVICES: IN 2019, THE CENTER'S HEALTH SERVICES PROGRAMS CONTINUED INCREASED EFFORTS TOWARDS ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION, AND SYSTEM NAVIGATION THROUGH HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS. THE CENTER PARTNERED WITH USC'S OSTROW SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY TO PROVIDE 2,262 COMPREHENSIVE DENTAL TREATMENTS TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS THROUGH THE MOBILE DENTAL CLINIC. VISION HEALTH IMPROVED FOR LOW-INCOME CHILDREN AND ADULTS THROUGH ACCESS TO 757 VISION SERVICES ENTAILING EYE CLINICS, EXAMS, GLASSES, AND EYEGLASS VOUCHERS. HEALTHCARE NEEDS WERE COORDINATED FOR UNHOUSED AND UNINSURED INDIVIDUALS THROUGH CASE MANAGEMENT, MEDICAL OUTREACH, POP-UP CLINICS, AND RESOURCE LINKAGES. 88 HIV TESTING AND 64 FREE FLU VACCINES WERE ADMINISTERED ON-SITE; 88 CHOLESTEROL, 1,343 GLUCOSE AND 1,694 BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS AIDED IN EDUCATING LOW-INCOME PARTICIPANTS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF REGULARLY MONITORING ONE'S HEALTH; 81 HEARING SCREENINGS, 14 SPORTS PHYSICALS, AND 114 BOOSTER SEATS HELPED PREPARE CHILDREN FOR SCHOOL.
