The mission of Gathering for Women is to provide homeless women on the Monterey Peninsula supportive resources and a caring community.
Day center in Monterey where women on the Monterey Peninsula can receive various supportive services such as a hot breakfast and lunch, take away food bags, hot showers, clothing and personal hygiene items, tarps, tents and sleeping bags. Women may also receive assistance in the form of laundry, gas and bus vouchers and emergency transportation, job training, access to health services such as flu shots through a collaboration with Montage and other health and well being classes such as art, meditation and acupuncture. All services are centered around comprehensive case management services to assess each individual's needs and to connect them with other service providers as necessary. In 2019, Gathering for Women provided services to 473 individual women including 16,236 hot meals or take away meals, 3,586 visits to the clothes closet, 2,692 hot showers and 1,670 case management sessions.
