Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of the Monterey Bay Veterans, Inc. Sports Rehab Center is to provide Disabled Veterans and the physically challenged with mental and physical rehabilitation therapy and access to outdoor recreation, with special emphasis on marine sports.
The Wheelchair Salmon Derby program provides for over 250 disabled Vets. from hospitals & Veterans homes all over the state. It, and the related Rock Cod Derby, had to be shortened or cancelled in 2020 because of the State mandated Covid 19 restrictions during 2020 but are hoped to be reinstituted in full in 2021. The dailyrecreational rehab program provided for over 400 disable Vets. from all over Calif.to participate but had to seriously curtailed in 2020 because of State mandates.The Monterey Bay Veterans is looking forward to restarting a complete menu of services to disabled vets in 2021 if and when permitted by the State of California.
