Organizations Filed Purposes:
The PTA also assists parents in developing the skills of effective education advocacy, encourages individual and collective participation in the democratic process, and vigorously advocates on issues that are of concern to local schools.
JOAQUIN MORAGA INTERMEDIATE PTA is dedicated to the continuous improvement of our children's education through the guidelines established by the California PTA. We strive to keep parents informed about vital state and federal education issues.
HOT LUNCHES-----------THE PTA PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE HOT LUNCH PROGRAM AT JOAQUIN MORAGA INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL. Students who qualify for free or reduced price meals under the National School Lunch Program are the principal beneficiaries.
ENRICHMENT----------PTA PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR TEACHERS AND CLASSROOMS. THESE ENRICHMENT FUNDS SUPPLEMENTED NEARLY ALL GRADE LEVELS TO ALLOW THE PURCHASE OF MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES OUTSIDE THE REGULAR SCOPE OF GRADE REQUIREMENTS. PTA ALSO SUPPORTED TEACHERS BY ENABLING THEM TO PURCHASE CLASS SUPPLIES AND BOOKS TO SUPPLEMENT SCHOOL RESOURCES.
OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES------------------THE PTA SUPPORTS SEVERAL ACTIVITIES OUTSIDE OF REGULAR SCHOOL HOURS FOR STUDENT PARTICIPATION AND FOR THE PROMOTION OF SCHOOL UNITY. AMONG OTHER THINGS, THIS INCLUDES THE BOOK CLUB, AFTER SCHOOL SPORTS, CREATIVE ARTS & WRITING, DANCE CLUB, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS ACTIVITIES.
