Organizations Filed Purposes: Mission: Connect workers and employers in a safe and supportive environment. Empower workers to improve their socio-economic condition through fair employment, education, and job skills training. Participate in advocacy efforts that support the day laborer community.

Worker/Employer Matching - Workers seeking work are matched with employers in a safe and dignified environment. The Day Worker Center of Mountain View connects homeowners, renters and local businesses owners with skilled day workers who are ready to work.

Worker Support - This program offers support to workers for classes and workshops to improve their English and learn a variety of skills, enabling them to make productive use of time when they are not working to support themselves and their families. English as a second language classes are offered 15 hours per week, 52 weeks during the year. Job skills workshops, safety training, CPR and first aid classes, food handling training, gardening and leadership training are all offered to the workers regularly. Evening classes are provided for computer training, fitness classes and training for passing the written drivers license test.

Community Outreach - The Day Worker Center makes educational presentations to the community about the Day Worker Center and the many aspects of workers seeking employment to help themselves and their families. The Center serves as a critical conduit for the city agencies and services and helps coordinate and participate in community events.
