Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Sierra Watch is to protect the biological and other resource values of key landscapes in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Sierra Watch engages expert research and conducts public education efforts to better understand and shape land use decision making in the Sierra Nevada. Our programs lead directly to protection of natural resources in places such as Martis Valley, Squaw Valley, and Donner Summit.
BETWEEN JULY, 2019 AND JUNE, 2020 SIERRA WATCH CONTINUED TO INCREASE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF SIERRA CONSERVATION ISSUES AND PROTECT THREATENED LANDSCAPES IN THE TAHOE TRUCKEE REGION.
THE MISSION OF SIERRA WATCH IS TO PROTECT THE BIOLOGICAL AND OTHER RESOURCE VALUES OF KEY LANDSCAPES IN THE SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAIN RANGE. THE CAMPAIGNS UNDERTAKEN BY SIERRA WATCH WILL RESULT IN FUNDS TO ACQUIRE LANDS OF HIGH BIOLOGICAL VALUE AND WILL REDIRECT DEVELOPMENT TO MORE APPROPRIATE AREAS. OUR WORK WILL IMPROVE COMMUNITY PLANS BY CREATING GREATER PUBLIC DISCUSSION AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CONSERVATION NEEDS AND STRATAGIES.
