4Plus LGBTQQ Youth Training and Development Center is an Oakland, CA multi-service agency serving Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning young adults of color ages 14-29. Our focus is on healthcare access, educational attainment and employment development. We are committed to creating opportunities for self-sufficiency and fostering young people in their transition to becoming healthy, educated and employable adults.
We have serves about 220 youth. We helped to started up Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) in a number of City of Oakland Charter schools. More then half of our youth who participated in our resume writing course successfully found a part-time or full-time Job. Along with other LGBTQ partner organization we were successful educating the city of Oakland council members about the plight of LGBTQ youth, which lead to addition funding for that underserved population
