Organizations Filed Purposes: CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE FOUNDATION IS A STATEWIDE NON-PROFIT WHICH PARTNERS WITH PUBLIC AGENCIES, PRIVATE BUSINESSES, AND OTHER NON-PROFITS TO ADMINISTER PRIVATE AND PUBLIC FUNDS AIMED AT ACQUIRING AND RESTORING CRITICAL WILDLIFE HABITAT AND PROTECTING SPECIES.

THE FOUNDATION WORKS WITH DIVERSE GROUPS REPRESENTING MANY INTERESTS TO CAREFULLY PLAN, WISELY INVEST FUNDS AND STRATEGICALLY IMPLEMENT SELECTED PROJECTS TO ACHIEVE CLIMATE STABILITY, SUSTAINABLE WILDLIFE HABITAT AND HEALTHY WATERSHEDS AS A MATTER OF PUBLIC TRUST FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS OF CITIZENS, PLANTS AND ANIMALS. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM SERVICES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FISH & WILDLIFE NATURAL RESOURCE CONSERVATION PARTNERS, INCLUDING WILDLIFE CONSERVATION BOARD, STATE COASTAL CONSERVANCY AND THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE. THE FOUNDATION FACILITATES FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCE MANAGMENT PARTNERSHIPS WITH PUBLIC INTEREST GROUPS, FEDERAL, STATE, REGIONAL AND LOCAL AGENCIES IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE CDFW'S RESOURCE CONSERVATION MANDATES.

CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS AND ADMINISTERS WILDLIFE EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO ENSURE A NEW GENERATION OF INFORMED AND DEDICATED STEWARDS OF THE STATE'S LAND AND WATER RESOURCES NEEDED TO MAINTAIN THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE STATE. CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE FOUNDATION HAS RAISED PRIVATE FUNDS AND ISSUED GRANTS TO EDUCATION PROGRAMS, INCLUDING BUTTE ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL, EARTH DISCOVERY INSTITUTE, AND STUDENTS AND TEACHERS RESTORING A WATERSHED, AS WELL AS CLIMATE KIDS.

CWF'S CALIFORNIA OAKS FUND THRU THE CALIFORNIA OAKS COALTION BRINGS TOGETHER NATIONAL, STATE, REGIONAL AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO CONSERVE AND PERPETUATE THE STATE'S PRIMARY OLD GROWTH RESOURCE. MEMBERS ARE UNITED BY THE VITAL ROLE OF OAKS IN SEQUESTERING CARBON, MAINTAINING HEALTHY WATERSHEDS, PROVIDING HABITAT, AND SUSTAINING CULTURAL VALUES. CALIFORNIA OAKS PROVIDES VALUABLE RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY, INFORMATION TO EDUCATE AND ENGAGE THE PUBLIC, TOOLS FOR PARTICIPATING IN PLANNING PROCESSES AND EDUCATING OPINION LEADERS AND MATERIALS TO INFORM LOCAL, REGIONAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES OF THE OPPORTUINITIES FOR AND BENEFITS OF PROTECTING OAK WOODLANDS.

CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE FOUNDATION CONTINUES TO ADMINISTER STATE COASTAL CONSERVANCY FUNDS TO THE NINE-COUNTY BAY AREA. REVEGETATION CONTINUES APACE SO THAT WILDLIFE HABITAT CONTINUES TO SUPPORT WETLAND-DEPENDENT SPECIES. CWF, WITH ITS CONTRACTOR, PACIFIC STATES ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRACTORS, INC., IS NOW ENGAGED IN THE RESTORATION OF RAVENSWOOD WITH THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE. CWF CONTINUES TO ADMINISTER FUNDS ON BEHALF OF THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE FOR SKAGGS ISLAND MAINTENANCE AND RESTORATION PROJECTS, AND ANTIOCH DUNES, BOTH LOCATIONS ARE PART OF THE SAN PABLO BAY NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. CWF IS CURRENTLY PROVIDING PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION SERVICE FOR SOUTH BAY SALT PONDS RESTORATION INCLUDING A COMPONENT TO IMPLEMENT HABITAT ENHANCEMENTS THAT PROTECT FROM SHORELINE EROSION AT EDEN LANDING ECOLOGICAL RESERVE. CWF IS ADDITIONALLY INVOLVED IN PROJECTS WITH THE NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE, CALIFORNIA LANDSCAPE COOPERATIVE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN TO CONDUCT THE INFORMATION EXCHANGE BETWEEN SCIENTISTS AND MANAGERS AND SUPPORT COLLABORATIVE CONSERVATION PROJECTS AND CLIMATE SCIENCE ALLIANCE SUPPORT OF THE CARBON SINK PROJECT AND ADDITIONAL CLIMATE RESILIENCY PROJECTS.
