Carbon180 is a new breed of climate-focused NGO partnering with policymakers, scientists and businesses around the globe to build a world that removes more carbon than it emits.
In 2019, our policy team conducted analyses, hosted workshops, and provided education and outreach to policymakers to support increased federal funding for carbon removal research and development, as well as new policies that will help scale the deployment of carbon removal solutions in the near future. We continued to develop our Leading with Soils program to empower farmers and ranchers across the Rocky Mountain West to adopt regenerative agricultural practices, and to bring lessons learned on the ground to our federal policy work.
Carbon180 works on education around climate change and carbon removal solutions. To do this, we produce communications materials and host a repository of information on carbon removal on our website. In 2019, we shared our perspectives on policy, research, and business developments through our new The Carbon Copy, newsletter. With over 3700 subscribers. We focused on sharing the field's latest news, science and job opportunities. We also have an active presence on social media.
We have participated and hosted a number of events in order to increase and improve the quality and quantity of discussion on carbon removal solutions. In 2019, we spoke at dozens of conferences, moderated multiple panel discussions at conferences, workshops, and government briefings.
