Organizations Filed Purposes:
To expand and diversify the healthcare workforce by connecting immigrants to healthcare career pathways in the US and to work with educators and employers to qualify immigrants for healthcare careers. Our vision is to improve healthcare services for the local community.
To develop career pathways for immigrants and refugees to enter or re-enter healthcare professions in the US and to work with educators and employers to qualify English language learners for healthcare jobs.
DHTIs community wellness initiatives include education campaigns on civic engagement and public health and improving service identification, navigation, and referral to services. We reached over 1000 across the state about the Census 2020. Sidra Community Wellness reached over 220 participants with mental health promotion and provided 30 clients with early intervention from Middle Eastern/Arab and North Africa communities. DHTI staff rose to the occasion as we helped our participants and clients stay healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and provided the needed emotional and social supports for those impacted. DHTIs Healthcare Career Pathways Initiatives impacted over 60 lives supporting their goals and aspirations to pursue healthcare careers. 13 youth participated in Young Leaders for Community Wellness 24 participated in community health and allied health worker fellowships and transitioned to healthcare jobs and post-secondary certification and degree programs.
