Working to reshape the economic landscape of the US food system by creating a permanent sector of viable artisan food businesses, FCI is an educational institution that offers professional training courses steeped in traditional techniques.
Eat Real Festival: This event brings FCI food entrepreneurs and consumers together in a showplace of food making and entrepreneurial education beyond our usual curriculum. Eat Real celebrates the successes of our hard working students, experts, practitioners, instructors and community partners. Annually we highlight Food Craft Institute graduates and practitioners throughout the Festival.
Instructional Courses: We offer structured, hands-on courses taught by a combination of expert food makers, owners of successful food businesses as well as marketing and business experts. Teaching manual skills and a deep understanding of primary ingredients, our practitioner/teachers guide students in techniques that date back centuries.
Special Events: Public sessions offering a mix of hands on training and sensory analysis, taught by the Bay Area?s masters and makers. Dedicated fans gather to learn about the styles, science, techniques and tools of their favorite foods ? granting access normally reserved for industry pros. All proceeds from events support FCI?s educational scholarships for low-income food makers.
