To break cycles of trauma, violence, exploitation and abuse through education, vocational skills and healing.
Nepal Healing Hub: In partnership with Bright Horizon Children?s Home & School and Raksha Nepal, we trained caregivers supporting orphaned children and survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation in trauma-informed, healing-centered care and mental health. We also trained 9 graduates of our programs to become local training facilitators, who then trained 50 educators serving 1,000 students in the Baglung district of Nepal, as part of our effort to scale mental health support across the country.
Institute for Emerging Visionaries: Our fiscally sponsored program launched an online leadership development program to equip young leaders from Kenya, Rwanda, Iraq, Guatemala, Mexico and the United States with skills to heal and empower change in their communities. The program culminated in a 10-day Global Visionary Incubator, where participants gained skills in trauma informed care, fundraising, cross cultural communication, and peace-building. Starting in 2020, they will launch social projects in their communities with seed funding from IEV.
US Healing Hub: In 2019, we trained survivors and community leaders in somatic and arts-based trauma-informed and healing-centered care, who support over 6,000 survivors around the world including sex trafficked and sexually exploitation individuals, Syrian refugees, formerly incarcerated individuals, and survivors of interpersonal violence. In partnership with Reclaiming Our Own Transcendence, we launched Healing Cycles of Harm, an 8-week healing program for survivors and aggressors of interpersonal and systemic violence.
