GO Public Schools builds and supports a multi-city network of local coalitions, whose members parents, educators, and community allies work together to expand access to quality education in Californias most historically underserved communities.We inform, align, organize, and support leaders at every level, from grassroots to grasstops. These leaders are advocates for changes in school governance, policy, practice, and culture that promote excellence and equity for our students and families. Organizing leaders at all levels to advocate for excellent and equitable systems creates the conditions for improved student opportunity, learning, and achievement cradle to career.

Oakland Accomplishments-Engaged nearly 700 participants and 150 leaders to take action in support of our work to improve Oaklands public education system in one-on-one meetings, events, budget roadshows, and other opportunities. This base of supporters allows us to make a significant impact on system-level policy decisions in Oakland Unified School District.-Partnered with the Oakland Unified School District on a #SchoolAfterCOVID survey that has received participation from over 4,500 families in five languages, to ensure that family voice about whats working (and not) about distance learning informs the plans for the coming school year.-Launched the GO Oakland Educator QuaranTEAM with over 30 educators (a majority of whom identify as People of Color) from across 18 different Oakland public schools to come together to learn strategically and collaborate across differences to identify and interrupt racial oppression within themselves and every domain of COVID-19 school redesign to ensure all thrive.
West Contra Costa Accomplishments-Engaged nearly 850 participants and 170 leaders in one-on-one meetings, events, board actions, and other opportunities. This base of supporters allows us to make a significant impact on system-level policy decisions in West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD).-Supported the West Contra Costa African American Site Advisory Team (AASAT) to present at a January school board meeting, securing unanimous approval of the In Support of the Achievement and Success of African American / Black Students In The West Contra Costa Unified School District resolution. The resolution detailed a number of actions they called upon the district to take to stop the chronic failing of African American children in WCCUSD, including declaring an educational state of emergency and calling for a financial commitment of $7.2M for targeted services and supports for African American children throughout the district.-Released the fourth annual GO WCC Kids Can student outcomes report which was nominated for the PIE Networks Most Actionable Research Award to shine a light on WCCUSDs bright spots and call attention to where the school district needs to continue to grow, as well as provide families with tools to support their childrens college-going aspirations.
Fresno Accomplishments-Engaged over nearly 400 participants in one-on-one meetings, events, our first board action, and other opportunities. This base of supporters allows us to make a significant impact on system-level policy decisions in Fresno Unified School District (FUSD).-Graduated 63 participants from the Family Leaders Program (FLP) over the year, bringing our total to 125 graduates. Of these, more than 30 alumni actively involved in our Family Leaders Action Group (FLAG), as well as many more participating in periodic advocacy efforts through events, virtual Zoom meetings and trainings, and other opportunities. -Spoke at an FUSD board meeting in support of board resolution 19-23, which opposed the CSU systems proposal to add a fourth year of math as a requirement for admission. The resolution ultimately passed unanimously, with an amendment that the board send a representative to speak at a CSU board meeting.
