IMPACT JUSTICE IS A NATIONAL INNOVATION AND RESEARCH CENTER THAT WILL FOCUS ON REDUCING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE INVOLVED IN OUR JUVENILE AND ADULT CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, IMPROVING CONDITIONS FOR THOSE WHO REMAIN INCARCERATED AND PROVIDE MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUCCESS FOR THOSE REJOINING OUR COMMUNITIES.
IMPACT JUSTICE SERVES COMMUNITIES, FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS ACROSS THE COUNTRY, BY WORKING AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT TO CREATE THE KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICES THAT MAKE THE GREATEST IMPACT ON OVER-INCARCERATION AND RACIAL DISPARITY. WE WORK PRIMARILY WITH LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES.
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE - RESTORATIVE JUSTICE ENCOURAGES CONSTRUCTIVE RESPONSES TO WRONGDOING. IT BRINGS THOSE WHO HAVE HARMED, THEIR VICTIMS, AND AFFECTED COMMUNITY MEMBERS INTO PROCESSES THAT REPAIR HARMS AND REBUILD RELATIONSHIPS. AT ITS BEST, RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PRODUCES CONSENSUS-BASED PLANS THROUGH FACE-TO-FACE DIALOGUES THAT MEET VICTIM-IDENTIFIED NEEDS WHILE SUPPORTING THE POSITIVE DEVELOPMENT OFTHOSE WHO'VE HARMED. THIS CAN TAKE MANY FORMS, MOST NOTABLY COMMUNITY CONFERENCING MODELS AND CIRCLE PROCESSES.
PREA RESOURCE CENTER - BEGINNING JUNE 2016, THE ORGANIZATION WAS AWARDED, BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, THE GRANT TO LEAD THE NATIONAL PRISON RAPE ELIMINATION ACT RESOURCE CENTER (PRC). ESTABLISHED THROUGH A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FROM THE BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE, THE PRC SERVES AS THE NATIONAL RESOURCE FOR DIRECT AND ONLINE SUPPORT, TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND AUDIT SUPPORT TO ASSIST ADULT AND JUVENILE CORRECTIONS, DETENTION, TRIBAL DETENTION, COMMUNITY CONFINEMENT FACILITIES, AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PROFESSIONALS IN THEIR ONGOING WORK TO ELIMINATE SEXUAL ABUSE AND SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN CONFINEMENT.
RESEARCH AND ACTION (RAC) FORMERLY KNOWN AS COMMUNITY PROGRAM - THE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS TEAM CONDUCTS RESEARCH THAT IDENTIFIES JUSTICE DISPARITIES ACROSS RACE, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, GENDER IDENTITY, AND GENDER EXPRESSION.
