Organizations Filed Purposes: WE ARE A COMPASSIONATE, COLLABORATIVE ORGANIZATION SEEKING TO HELP REALIZE TRANSFORMATIVE EDUCATIONAL EQUITY FOR THE OAKLAND COMMUNITY. OUR MISSION IS REALIZED THROUGH VIABLE PARTNERSHIPS THAT SYSTEMICALLY IMPROVE THE EDUCATIONAL CONDITIONS IN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS FOR UNDER-REPRESENTED STUDENTS AND THE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES NEEDED FOR THEIR LIFE SUCCESS.

COLLEGE BOUND BROTHERHOODTHE MISSION OF THE COLLEGE BOUND BROTHERHOOD IS TO INCREASE THE COLLEGE READINESS, ACCESS, PERSISTENCE, AND COMPLETION OF THE AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNG MEN FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA.THE COLLEGE BOUND BROTHERHOOD IS A MOVEMENT OF STAKEHOLDERS WORKING TOGETHER TO IMPROVE THE WAY WE SUPPORT AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNG MEN IN ORDER TO INCREASE COLLEGE OPPORTUNITY AND SUCCESS. WE BELIEVE THAT INCREASING COLLEGE ATTAINMENT FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNG MEN IS IMPERATIVE FOR A HEALTHY SOCIETY AND ECONOMY. WE KNOW WE MUST WORK TOGETHER TO CREATE CHANGE AND BUILD A COMMUNITY OF SUPPORT IN WHICH EVERYONE SEES THEIR STAKE. WE FLIP NARRATIVES AND CHANGE PERCEPTIONS RELATED TO AFRICAN AMERICAN YOUNG MEN AND THEIR COLLEGE ASPIRATIONS.

SCHOLARSHIPSSINCE 1973 THE ORGANIZATION HAS GIVEN THOUSANDS OF SCHOLARSHIPS TO OAKLAND'S GRADUATING SENIORS TO ATTEND COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY. LAST YEAR, WITH THE GENEROUS SUPPORT OF OAKLAND'S BUSINESS COMMUNITY, CALIFORNIA-BASED PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS, LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, AND FORMER MARCUS FOSTER SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS, THE FUND PRESENTED OVER 200 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS FROM OAKLAND AND ACROSS THE BAY AREA.

EAST BAY COLLEGE ACCESS NETWORKTHE EAST BAY COLLEGE ACCESS NETWORK IS AN OAKLAND-BASED COLLABORATIVE DEDICATED TO ELIMINATING SYSTEMIC BARRIERS TO COLLEGE ACCESS, PERSISTENCE, AND COMPLETION FOR ALL STUDENTS IN OAKLAND, THE EAST BAY, AND BEYOND. THE CAN'S INITIAL FOCUS CENTERED ON IMPROVING ACCESS AND ELIGIBILITY FOR LOW INCOME STUDENTS TO RECEIVE FINANCIAL AID.
