The mission of Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir is to inspire joy and unity among all people through black gospel and spiritual music traditions.
OIGC offers world class Black gospel music and spirituals that bring inspiration and joy to audiences. Our mission is one of inclusion and acceptance no matter race, religion, socioeconomic status or sexual orientation.

#served: 4,775 The Oakland Interfaith Youth Choir introduces gospel music to youth ages 12 to 17. The choir, first started in 1997, now includes over two dozen members from diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. In addition to providing musical education and training, the choir mentors local youth and provides support for academic success and admission to college. Alumni have gone on to a variety of prestigious institutions, including Berklee College of Music, Brown University, Morehouse College, Spellman College, Stanford University, and the University of California, Berkeley. Members are frequently recruited for local musical productions. Their performances included multiple MLK Celebrations across the SF Bay Area, in support of high schools' gala and rededication ceremony, self-produced concerts for fundraising and celebrating the seniors, as well as performances with the adult Gospel and Community Choirs.
