Organizations Filed Purposes:
Improve the lives of low-income families and children by increasing access to quality affordable child care and other health and human services in Alameda County.
Organized volunteers to collect thousands of signatures to place The Childrens Health and Child Care Initiative Alameda County 2020 on the ballot for the March 3, 2020 election. Provided voter education about the legislation to hundreds of parents, who signed a pledge to join the organization. Supported families who needed help registering to vote. Passed Measure C (The Childrens Health and Child Care Initiative Alameda County 2020) in March of 2020, which will yield approximately $150 million dollars annually for 20 years. This is new local funding for the health and well being of young children and their families. Expanded our community organizing program through parent leadership trainings, increased size and capacity of programs in organization and grew our impact by expanding service area to multiple cities in Alameda County. Provided rapid response relief to low-income families impacted by global pandemic (COVID-19); in the form of food supplies, hygiene kits, PPE, diapers, gift cards for supplies, and other valuable concrete supports.
