TO FOSTER THE CAREER ADVANCEMENT AND INCREASED FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP OF UNDERREPRESENTED TALENT BY CREATING MECHANISMS FOR GREATER INCLUSION FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE BOARDROOM.
EDUCATION: THE FOUNDATION'S FINANCIAL INVESTMENT IN THE GROWING INTERESTS AND NEEDS OF TODAY'S MBAS IS REFLECTED IN THE DOLLARS ALLOCATED TO SUPPORT MORE THAN 166 STUDENTS IN 2019. PROGRAMMING SURROUNDS THE RECRUITMENT, SCHOLARSHIP ADMINISTRATION, EDUCATIONAL CURRICULA AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT RESOURCES THAT WERE ENHANCED GIVEN THE LARGER CLASS AND THE INTRODUCTION OF NEW AREAS OF CAREER EXPLORATION. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION INTRODUCED AN EXPANDED LEARNING PLATFORM INCORPORATING TECHNICAL CAREER SKILL DEVELOPMENT TO COMPLEMENT OUR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CURRICULA. THE FOUNDATION'S HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL INDUSTRY EDUCATION EVENT PRESENTED A DEEP LOOK INTO CAREERS WITHIN FINANCE TO AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND HIGH-POTENTIAL GROUP OF MORE THAN 300 YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ACCEPTED INTO BUSINESS SCHOOL IN THE FALL RESULTING FROM A ROBUST APPLICATION PROCESS OF MORE THAN 400 INITIAL CANDIDATES FOR THIS HIGHLY REGARDED FELLOWSHIP. FROM THESE EFFORTS, A 1ST YEAR CLASS OF FELLOWS WERE SELECTED REPRESENTING THE WELCOMING OF 90 STUDENTS FOR THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 2021. TO REINFORCE THE EXPECTATIONS THAT SURROUND THE TOIGO FELLOWSHIP AND TO FOSTER A DYNAMIC DIVERSE PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITY, THE FOUNDATION CARRIES OUT SEVERAL ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC YEAR ANCHORED BY THE THEME OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND NETWORKING. IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION ALLOWS FOR ONE-ON-ONE TALENT STRATEGY SESSIONS, WORKSHOPS, CORPORATE INTRODUCTIONS AND INSIGHTS FROM PROMINENT INDUSTRY LEADERS; CREATED AN IDEAL SETTING FOR EXCHANGE AND LEARNING.
CAREER AND TALENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES: THE FOUNDATION'S SERVICE TO ITS FELLOWS (CURRENT AND FORMER) AND TO OUR EXTENDED NETWORK OF MINORITY PROFESSIONALS IN FINANCE CONTINUES TO AMPLIFY TOIGO AS A TRUSTED INDUSTRY PARTNER AND AN EXCELLENT RESOURCE OF TALENT FOR ENTRY LEVEL AS WELL AS MID TO SENIOR CAREER POSITIONS. IN 2019, THE FOUNDATION INCREASED ITS ENGAGEMENT WITH THE EMPLOYER COMMUNITY BY BRIDGING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN OPPORTUNITIES AND INTEREST TO REACH DIVERSE PROFESSIONALS. THROUGH ONGOING CAREER MANAGEMENT SUPPORT AND PROFESSIONAL COUNSEL, TOIGO HAS PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN ENSURING THAT NEXT GENERATION LEADERS ARE PROVIDED EXPOSURE TO THE BEST CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AND THAT THEIR TALENT IS PROMOTED ACROSS THE INDUSTRY, AS APPROPRIATE. A VARIETY OF EVENTS WERE HOSTED BRINGING TOGETHER MORE THAN 200 PROFESSIONALS REPRESENTING ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR TALENT, PROVIDING INDUSTRY PERSPECTIVE, AND/OR BUILDING BRAND AWARENESS/BENCH STRENGTH TO ENHANCE THEIR TALENT PIPELINE FOR THE FUTURE. THESE ACTIVITIES RESULTED IN SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES AROUND EMPLOYMENT OF SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS PLACED IN SENIOR MANAGEMENT POSITIONS. THE FOUNDATION'S ACTIVE OUTREACH HAS REACHED THOUSANDS OF PROFESSIONALS PROVIDING INSIGHTS AND COUNSEL AROUND BEST PRACTICES MODELS FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION STRATEGIES FOR THEIR ORGANIZATIONS AND WAYS TO LEVERAGE THE TOIGO FOUNDATION.
TOIGO INSTITUTE PROGRAMMING: TOIGO INSTITUTE PROGRAMMING REMAINED A DYNAMIC PART OF THE FOUNDATION'S OFFERINGS IN 2019. WITH INCREASED INDUSTRY ATTENTION ON INITIATIVES WHICH AMPLIFY THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION WITHIN CORPORATE AMERICA, THE FOUNDATION INVESTMENTS IN SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES REPRESENT ITS ONGOING COMMITMENT TO THE LEADERSHIP GOALS OF THE POST-GRADUATE POPULATION WE SERVE AND MEANINGFUL WAYS TO EDUCATION AND INCREASE AWARENESS AROUND WORKPLACE DIVERSITY, ACCESS TO TALENT AND MECHANISMS FOR RETENTION. THE FOUNDATION CONTINUED BUILDOUT OF ITS LEARNING PLATFORM TO FEATURE, PODCASTS, INVESTMENT SECTOR WEBINARS, COACHING SUPPORT AND A NEW CRM TOOL TO ENHANCE PEER TO PEER CONNECTIONS FOR TOIGO POPULATION OF 1700+. THE FOUNDATION'S THOUGHT LEADERSHIP WORK ADVANCED WITH THE RELEASE OF WHITE PAPERS AND INDUSTRY SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS PROVIDING EDUCATION AND AWARENESS ON THE MERITS AND BENEFITS OF BUILDING A MORE INCLUSIVE WORKPLACE, ADDRESSING BARRIERS AND STEPS TO ACHIEVING GREATER INCLUSION GOALS. OF INCREASED PROMINENCE IS THE FOUNDATION'S WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP SUMMIT, GROUNDBREAKERS. THE 2019 EVENT PRESENTED TO AN AUDIENCE OF NEARLY 400, SOME OF THE NATION'S MOST PROMINENT LUMINARIES FROM ACADEMIA, PHILANTHROPY, BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT. ADDITIONALLY, THE FOUNDATION BEGAN THE EXPANSION OF THE GROUNDBREAKER'S WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP BRAND TO REACH THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF NEXT GENERATION LEADERSHIP.
