The Rockwood Leadership Institute provides individuals, organizations and networks in the social benefit sector with powerful and effective training in leadership and collaboration that help improve the well-being of our communities and world.

Rockwood FellowshipsRockwood convenes leaders within a given issue area or geographic region in order to catalyze more powerful and engaged learning communities and partnerships. Designed as a longer term, multi-retreat experience, each fellowship program identifies 12-24 influential leaders to engage in intensive training and receive tools in transformational leadership. Nine Rockwood Fellowships, with a total of 214 participants, were delivered in whole or in part in 2019 [Building Power for Healthy Communities Fellowship; JustFilms Fellowship; Resource Leaders Fellowship; Fellowships for Leaders Strengthening Democracy; Fellowship for Leaders in Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice; Lead Now California; Leadership Now Ohio; Lead Now Pittsburgh.]

Art of Leadership TrainingsRockwood leads multi-day residential leadership development retreats for social change leaders from the nonprofit, philanthropic, labor and socially responsible business sectors. This work includes our flagship "Art of Leadership" training as well as "Advanced Art of Leadership" courses. In 2019, Rockwood offered a total of fourteen Art of Leadership gatherings, in which 332 individuals participated.

Rockwood PartnershipsRockwood offers Art of Leadership trainings and related services for organizations designed to address the specific leadership development goals of national, regional and local organizations. In 2019, Rockwood provided training, tools and consultations through several active partnerships in which 220 individuals were served. [Partnerships included: InPartnership to support AFRE Fellowship, Kresge Fuel AoL, AoL for MASA women, Workshop for human rights leaders in Mexico, AoL for leaders in Buffalo NY (Oishei), two sessions for UJA Ruskay Fellows, AOL Refresher for SOMA Community, CBPP Planning meeting, AoL for SEIU employees]
