Our youth programs provides "Rites Of Passage" support to youth. Helping Adolescents and teens make connections to themselves and their communities.
Youth mentoring utilizing connection to community and nature
In 2018 we served 15 groups with 5 to 8 youth in each group. Groups meet for a monthly daylong outing with two mentor leaders for each group. Groups stay together for 2 to 3 years and include an annual camping trip. Nature, connection, art, talk time and playtime are a methodical part of the group dynamics. Each leader is selected carefully with a background of wilderness experience and youth development. Parents also meet with leaders once a quarter to bring much needed support for their roles during these intense developmental years.
