The Teaching Well empowers school systems to more effectively support, retain and leverage the brilliance of their educators. In partnership, we heal adult culture by providing tools for healthy dialogue, emotional regulation and mindful stress resilience.

Full-school signature program: The Teaching Well forms multi-year partnerships with school communities, and provides a variety of teacher- and systems-level interventions, including: 1. Professional development around areas like stress resilience, managing vicarious trauma, healthy communication, and financial wellness, 2. One on one mindful mentoring sessions with teachers to turn these concepts into habits, 3. School site research to provide a landscape analysis around campus sustainability, and 4. Executive-level leadership coaching to help administrators build healthy school systems informed by teacher voice. In 2019-20, we served a total of 13 schools in California, Colorado, Washington DC, Idaho and Tennessee with our signature coaching and training model, and secured a total of $134,707.50 in contract revenue from these site partners. 93% of our teachers report significant changes in wellness habits through partnership with The Teaching Well that have made them a better educator. Increased retention as a result of better working conditions created savings of almost $2 million for schools and districts.
Other education contracts:In addition to our full-school signature program, we also offer specialized leadership training for school and district executives, as well as suites of professional development to sites and networks across the country. In 2019-20, we also led a Mindful Leadership institute for a cohort of 16 school leaders in 12 states. We partnered with philanthropic institutions to make these offerings accessible. In 2019-20, we secured $73,371.61 through these other education contracts.
Education-adjacent contractsTo meet the unique needs of this unprecedented year, we also evolved our model to serve capacity building organizations that provide much-needed support to our educational system. We worked with leaders of nonprofits, education startups and accelerators, and foundations to enhance their capacity for mindful leadership amid rampant uncertainty. In 2019-20, we secured $38,250.00 for this program.
