Organizations Filed Purposes: EXPOSURE SKATE IS A CALIFORNIA NON-PROFIT CORPORATION FORMED FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN AND GIRLS IN THE AREAS OF HEALTH, COMMUNITY SERVICE, SPORTS AND ATHLETIC OPPORTUNITY THROUGH ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO FILMMAKING AND THE SPORT OF SKATEBOARDING.

EXPOSURE SKATE'S YOUTH PROGRAM CALLED "SKATE RISING" HAS PROGRESSED TO SERVING NEARLY 200 INDIVIDUALS PER MONTH. SKATE RISING IS A FREE SERIES OF CLASSES FOR GIRLS AGE 5-18. EACH CLASS CONSISTS OF THREE PARTS: EDUCATION, COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SKATEBOARDING. EACH SESSION BEGINS WITH A "TEACHING MOMENT" DURING WHICH A GUEST SPEAKER ADDRESSES A NEED IN THE COMMUNITY SUCH AS SUPPORT FOR THE HOMELESS, REFUGEES OR VICTIMS OF ABUSE. AFTERWARDS, STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT DESIGNED TO ALLEVIATE THAT NEED SUCH AS MAKING BRACELETS FOR VICTIMS OF BULLYING, MAKING ACTIVITY KITS FOR CHILDREN AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL OR HYGIENE KITS FOR THE HOMELESS. LASTLY, GIRLS WORK WITH PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARDERS TO DEVELOP CONFIDENCE AND NEW SKILLS THROUGH SKATEBOARDING.ALSO, EXPOSURE SKATE WAS INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL BENEFIT EVENTS SUCH ASCLASH AT CLAIREMONT AND DEW TOUR. AT EACH OF THESE EVENTS WE WERE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITY, SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR MISSION STATEMENT, AND DEMONSTRATE FEMALE EMPOWERMENT BY HAVINGPROFESSIONAL FEMALE SKATEBOARDERS PROVIDE DEMONSTRATIONS.ADDITIONALLY, EXPOSURE SKATE HELD ITS MOST SUCCESSFUL EVENT TO DATE, EXPOSURE 2019: A WOMEN'S BENEFIT EVENT. THISCOMMUNITY EVENT BROUGHT PEOPLE TOGETHER FOR FREE PERFORMANCES BY 130 OF THE TOP FEMALE SKATERS IN THE WORLD AND A WELLNESS VENDOR VILLAGE. OUR EVENT BROUGHT WOMEN AND GIRLS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TOGETHER TO SHARE FEMALEEMPOWERMENT. IT ALSO CREATED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES AND LOCAL YOUTH TO BECOME INVOLVED WITHPHILANTHROPIC WORK. THE EVENT ALSO RAISED AWARENESS AND FINANCES FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE BY DONATINGPROCEEDS TO HUMAN OPTIONS, A LOCAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER.EXPOSURE ALSO HOLDS PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ADULT SKATE CLASSES. PARTICIPANTS BRING A CANNED FOOD DONATION FOR THE COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER IN EXCHANGE FOR A FREE SKATEBOARDING CLINIC. WE AVERAGE 30 PARTICIPANTS PER CLASS WHO RANGE IN AGE FROM 20-60 .

PROVIDED ANTI-BULLYING PROGRAM TO SCHOOLS WHICH INCLUDED DEMONSTRATION OF SKATING ACTIVITIES.
