TO HELP ADVANCE EXCEPTIONAL HEALTHCARE IN OUR COMMUNITY.
The Tri-City Hospital Foundation (FOUNDATION) supports The Tri-City Medical Center (Hospital) in its efforts to provide quality compassionate healthcare to a socioeconomically-diverse population. The Foundation is committed to providing funds to the Hospital to ensure safe and effective patient care for the residents of the community it serves. DURING THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2020, THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDING TO THE HOSPITAL IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:MRI/Imaging: $1,268,500The Foundation supported the purchase of the latest, state-of-the-art MRI WHICH will provide services such as full cardiac and oncology imaging, advanced skeletal, brain, soft tissue, breast, neuro, orthopedic, and spine imaging to our community. This new equipment will allow all of the above to be done in a much larger scan opening to reduce claustrophobia and allow freer breathing to make MRI imaging as comfortable as possible. This also included education for two nurses.Emergency Department: $380,835The Foundation supported the Emergency Department with THE purchase of two (2) Cardiohelp Systems, SPECIFICALLY TWO (2) Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation SystemS (ECMO). The ECMO provides critical state of the art technology to the treatment of patients experiencing respiratory and cardiac failure / temporary life support. It acts as a mechanical lung and oxygenates the blood. It also acts as an artificial heart when the heart has failed, allowing the heart adequate time to rest in order to resume normal function. Patients recover faster and sustain life.An additional purchase of two (2) Portable Bedside Ultrasounds was also supported. These provide a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including rapid evaluation of: trauma, abdominal and chest pain, heart and lungs, eye, abscesses, blood clots, early pregnancies, and multiple invasive procedures which provide a significant reduction in risk to the patient.Pulmonary Services & Rehabilitation: $171,952The Foundation supported the Pulmonary Services and Rehabilitation department with the purchase of five (5) PB 980 ventilators. The PB 980 provides required ventilation to adults as well as neonates. The PB980 will allow THE HOSPITAL to accommodate more critical patients, especially during the COVID pandemic. This state of the art ventilator, with complex modes, will greatly improve the care that Respiratory can provide to our patients and for the foreseeable future. In addition, the Foundation purchased five (5) Radical-7 continuous O2 monitors: Allows respiratory to be on point with patients needing rapid ventilation and will increase the capabilities to treat patients with continuous pulse monitoring. The Radical-7 provides reliable monitoring, especially if patients are moving around and experiencing low perfusion. These devices will allow respiratory the ability to use these devices bedside, handheld and as a transport monitor which all leads to safe patient care. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): $121,266The Foundation supported the purchase of new equipment: NeoBlue bililights to provide more space around the bed, improving nurses ability to care for patients and space for family bonding; Seven Fetal monitors to replace aging equipment with updated and state-of-the-art technology.COVID-19: $88,524The Foundation has supported the pandemic with meals for our frontline workers, disinfectant wipes, PPE, AND protective mask racks.
